We are making a splash with the start of the new year by showcasing some of the newest cruise ships scheduled to embark on their maiden voyages in 2020.

As expected more river ships, more ocean cruise ships PLUS more expedition vessels are slated to enter the burgeoning cruise market.

According to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) 32 million passengers are expected to set sail in 2020. To meet ongoing demand, CLIA Cruise Lines are scheduled to debut 19 new ocean ships in the upcoming year, resulting in a total of 278 CLIA Cruise Line ocean ships projected to be in operation by the end of 2020.

Here’s a look at New Luxury Ocean Cruises having maiden voyages:

1. Regent Seven Seas Cruises Seven Seas Splendor

Dubbed as ‘the ship that defines luxury perfected’ the world’s leading luxury ocean cruise line is set to making the splashing debut of the Splendor. The fifth ship in Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet will showcase exquisite style and comfort. Among the regal amenities anticipate a stunning $5-million curated fine art collection, 19 innovative new signature cocktails and eight new gins. In the culinary world, the luxury ocean vessel will boast 16 new culinary arts kitchen classes ideal for foodie lovers. In the good sleeps department guests staying in the Regent Suite onboard will experience the Hastens Vividus custom-made mattress which retails $200,000 in the real world.

2. Saga Cruises MS Spirit of Adventure

This British-brand which launched its first polar expedition vessel “Spirit of Discovery” in 2019 will be debuting this sister-ship this summer. Cruisers who love boutique luxury will find the Spirit of Adventure will suit their needs. The ice-strengthened expedition ship facilities include a theatre, indoor spa and wellness centre, outdoor lido, pools and various restaurants.
Itineraries: All sails depart from the UK – watch for night cruises and length of cruises from short 4 days to long 31 day cruises in destinations across Europe and the Caribbean.
Room inventories: 540 cabins each with a balcony. 100 cabins set aside for solo cruisers who get a special ‘solo-traveller’ rate.

3. Silversea Silver Moon

Silversea’s expanding its fleet with the addition of this luxurious sleek vessel. The sister ship of Silver Muse has a different interior layout thanks to guest feedback based on the Silver Muse. Watch for the repositioning of some restaurants and bars plus the debut of Silversea’s new Sea And Land Taste (SALT) program, S.A.L.T Lab, featuring cooking workshops.

4. Silversea Silver Origin

Considered one of the most environmentally-friendly vessels on the waters, this all-inclusive luxury ship is set for the Galapagos Islands. Silver Origin is the first destination-specific ship built by Silverseas. However, like its predecessors from this Monaco-based privately owned luxury cruise line, the luxury expedition ship is designed with the atmosphere of casual elegance. Amenities include Zodiacs and more Silversea worthy distractions.

The Evrima is the first of three identical new builds set to start sailing this summer. The clientele are typical Ritz-Carlton guests, aimed at the discerning luxury traveller seeking immersive experiences with personalized service.
Itineraries: Voyages range from seven to 10 nights. Small off-the-beaten path ports in the Caribbean and France as well as European favourite destinations like Barcelona and Copenhagen with overnights in port. 2020 Sailings in Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Canada, and New England.
