You thought midway through the year the new cruise launches would be completed. Think again.

There are still boundless opportunities to get on board and cruise some of the newest ships with out-of-this-world cruise itineraries still set to sail this year.

Let’s begin with these upcoming maiden voyages. Here’s what’s next:

American Song, American Cruise Lines

Bring out the streamers, beads and begin to pahh-tee like you’re in New Orleans. The American Song considered the first modern riverboat in US history is also the new flagship in the new contemporary riverboat series from American Cruise Lines. The maiden voyage on the acclaimed Mississippi River departs from the Crescent City which is celebrating a tri-centennial birthday so expect fanfare and celebrations for the first few cruises.

Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Cruises

Come December, Celebrity Cruises will launch its highly anticipated crown jewel aptly named Edge. Arguably one of the last ships to launch this year, expect the wait to be worth it. While foodies can look forward to 29 eating venues crafted by a Michelin-starred chef there will be loads of innovative first-at-sea experiences like the Magic Carpet, a retractable moving floor with an open-air bar, seating accompanied by musicians set to create an ultra-hip vibe. The Godmother is Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Laureate and UN messenger of peace. The cruise company has announced two 7-night maiden voyages in the Caribbean for this 3,373 PAX ship.

MS Douro Splendour, Riviera River Cruises

Designed to fit through the Douro locks in Portugal, this 126 PAX vessel is reminiscent of cruising from a bygone era but with modern day touches. The five-star riverboat includes a lounge, bar restaurant, fitness room and spa. Basically, all the perks that spell a majestic nautical voyage along the fabled river of wine, rich history, and stunning countyside.

MS Nieuw Statendam, Holland America Line

From the artfully inspired sister ship Koningsdam which debuted in 2016 follows this new 2,666 PAX vessel which will join the Pinnacle Class ship collection. Ready to sail for the upcoming winter cruise season in the Caribbean, the most noticeable enhancement is the spacious redesigned open concept Pinnacle Suite, the largest on the ship as well as the reconfigured family staterooms with two bathrooms and extra closet space. With this new era of design guests will be able to enjoy onboard amenities in chic contemporary surrounds.

RCGS Resolute, One Ocean Expeditions

Named after HMS Resolute and the Inuit town of Resolute, RCGS Resolute is One Ocean Expeditions’ first purpose-built passenger expedition vessel. With the acquisition of this new 146-passenger ship, OOE – who has built a reputation for quality polar voyages – is now expanding into the warmer waters of Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico.
