Under a starry sky with a Manhattan skyline all a glitter, the newest ship from Carnival Cruise Line has made its grand debut.

The company’s second ship is the “Sista of the Vista,” as president of Carnival Cruise Line Christine Duffy relayed at the ship’s naming ceremony on the cruise line’s highly popular Vista-class.

So many options to please first time cruisers and seasoned cruise lovers, the experience will have you feeling there’s a destination here within your destination cruise with ample one-of-a-kind features.

ShipsAhoy made an exclusive visit, did the grand tour, dined and slept on board for this sneak peek:

Dine Around

With a food and beverage scene galore you’ll never go hungry…or thirsty. Dining has reached new “horizons.” Close your eyes and think you reached Japan while sampling the fresh sushi at Carnival’s Ji Ji Asian Kitchen. Maybe the idea of being in Italy has its appeal as the Italian favourites at Cucina del Capitano serves family-style. The other big WOW – who needs Vegas that land-locked destination where Guy Fieri burgers go for $22? On the Horizon head to Guy’s Burger Joint, a free-of-charge poolside venue and prepare to munch on one mean burger.

Need some soul searching food? The new eatery and brewhouse-in-one, Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse combines the best of both worlds custom-smoked BBQ and a choice of four handcrafted beers created by the only brewmaster in the North American cruise industry.

Chill Out

Need to spread your wings, maybe get a little alone time away from the family? There’s a spot for that too. Head to the Serenity deck. An adults-only section escape to a private retreat complete with swaying hammocks, sea breezes, peace and quiet, and yes… a nearby bar. It’s a total “serenity now” moment. Cost? What cost, it’s included.

Pamper time

Now you get to luxuriate as you obtain Cloud 9 status. The spa aptly named Cloud 9 has the hallmarks of blissful happiness. This destination on its own has a health club, beauty salon, thalassotherapy pool, steam chambers, and even an infrared sauna and hammam. Spa lovers get to enjoy so many experiences. There is even an acupuncturist who specializes in wellness and Dr. Diego, a medi-spa physician, who can make you look 10 years younger, if you like.

Kiddie-land

Dr. Seuss gets a big thumb’s up. A massive water park is themed after the children’s classic cartoon character. Sprinklers, water buckets, pop-up figures ready for selfies, it’s all here…. Other activities are the SkyRide, a suspended open-air cycling experience, 9-hole Mini Golf, a clubhouse for ping pong, mini bowling and more.

Entertain Me

Love how Queen Latifah is the godmother. The Grammy Award-winning singer and actress joined Superbowl Champ Jake Elliott in a Lip Sync battle (which she won bien sur) during the Carnival Horizon’s U.S. debut in the Big Apple. Even Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald and Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy took the stage. Create your own lip sync battles and expect more thrills and fun shows at the Liquid Lounge.

With so many venues, it’s time to experience a destination cruise, and yes, “Choose Fun,” the cruise company’s motto.
