Highlighting the Atlantic province’s connection between land and plate, Adventure Canada has launched Taste of Place, a culinary program on its Newfoundland Circumnavigation itinerary.

Launching October 2019, the 11-day excursion, chosen by Destination Canada as a Canadian Signature Experience, showcases landscape, wildlife and memorable tastes of the Rock’s distinctive’s cuisine like Patridge berry tarts, mustard pickle, cod tongues, Labrador Arctic char chowder and flipper pie.

With menus created by Canadian chefs in collaboration with local farmers and fishermen, guests can experience the wealth of Newfoundland and Labrador cuisine onboard and during excursions, which include stops at Gros Morne National Park and L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic site.

Adventure Canada has partnered with Anita Stewart, founder of Food Day Canada, and Lori McCarthy of Cod Sounds Culinary Excursions to educate travellers during the itinerary on local cuisine and highlight global issues such as climate change, food security and Indigenous food sovereignty.
