Expanding its fleet to eight, Ponant will launch Le Bougainville, the third ship in the Ponant Explorers series, setting sail on its maiden voyage on April 15. The official inauguration will occur on June 4.

Le Bougainville will feature 92 staterooms and suites, all featuring balcony or private terrace, and a refined design with sleek lines and cutting-edge environment-focused technologies. The ship will feature the world’s first ‘Blue Eye’ lounge, a multi-sensorial underwater salon to allows guests to experience the underwater world via two portholes in the form of a cetaceous eye looking out on to the sea bed.
Non-intrusive underwater lighting, hydrophones integrated into the keel to transmit the sounds of the sea and body-listening sofas that will offer a unique sensorial listening experience and a distinctive highlight for all passengers.
The company will add four more ships to its fleet in the next three years with Le Dumont-d’Urville in August 2019, Le Bellot scheduled for April 2020, Le Jacques Cartier scheduled for July 2020 and Le Commandant Charcot scheduled for May 2021.
